The first official image from the upcoming Wonder Woman film has been released by leading lady Gal Gadot on Twitter. The Israeli actress posted the first look of her as Wonder Woman from her own solo movie to mark the opening day of principal photography. Check out the photo here:

While the image doesn’t reveal any plot details, it does give us a clue as to where parts of the movie will take place. It shows an armoured and hooded Wonder Woman standing in front of Big Ben which suggests that London will be one of the a major settings for the film.
As well as a first glance at the titular heroine, some casting details were announced in a press release by Warner Bros. Joining the already confirmed Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor will be Robin Wright (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Danny Huston( X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (the Harry Potter films) Ewen Bremner ( Snowpiercer), Saïd Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In) and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead), in undisclosed roles.
It had been previously reported that A-List Australian actress Nicole Kidman had been offered a role but since her name isn’t on the cast list, it can assumed that either she’s still in negotiations or her part has been given to somebody else.
After 75 years of appearing in the pages of DC comics, Wonder Woman will finally make her big screen debut in next year’s eagerly anticipated superhero showdown Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Following Suicide Squad (2016), Wonder Woman will be the third cinematic entry into the DC Extended Universe after 2013’s Man of Steel.
Sitting in the director’s chair for Wonder Woman will be Patty Jenkins, who helmed the critically acclaimed Monster (2003) and nearly directed Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World (2013) before leaving due to creative differences.
Wonder Woman has so far had a troubled road to her own feature film adaptation but this new information emerging is sure to enhance excitement for the the iconic superheroine’s solo film.

So far plot details have been kept tightly wraps by Warner Bros but stay tuned for further developments.
Wonder Woman is set for a June 23, 2017 release.
