Netflix and Marvel have confirmed that their hit show Jessica Jones will return for a second season.
Despite receiving plenty of critical acclaim, there were rumblings that the successful first season of Jessica Jones would not be followed up with a second as many of those involved in the show were unsure about its future.
Now we know for certain that we’ll see another Jessica Jones season as Netflix announced a follow-up season consisting of 13 episodes.
Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb said:
“Marvel is thrilled to be working with NETFLIX for a second season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones. The positive response to Jessica’s story from fans all over the world has been overwhelming and we look forward to diving even deeper into these characters and this world.”
Recently Krysten Ritter, who starred in the titular role, received a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Drama Series.

It’s currently unknown when Jessica Jones season 2 will arrive on Netflix and which cast member will return. It will be interesting to see how it fits in around Daredevil season 2, Luke Cage (set for release later this year), and the upcoming Iron Fist and The Defenders series.
Daredevil season two will be released on March 18.
